Studio Policies
Guidelines that keep our studio safe, respectful, and fun for everyone.
Studio Policies: These policies help create a safe, respectful, and positive learning
environment for every dancer and family.
Attendance & Absences
Students arriving after the studio door has been closed by the instructor are considered tardy.
Four tardies within one semester are counted as one absence.
Students participating in rehearsals for performances are allowed
two excused rehearsal absences per semester.
More than two absences may jeopardize eligibility to perform.
Make-Up Classes / Trial Classes
Active students that have missed one class may take one free makeup class during the same month that
they missed class. Students must be actively enrolled in at least one class to take a makeup class.
New students are eligible for one free trial class to evaluate if they are the correct level and
comfortable in class.
Parent Responsibilities
- Parents are only permitted inside classrooms during teacher-approved observation periods.Parents may
observe classes through the viewing windows at both the Sahuarita Arts Center and Rancho
Sahuarita Clubhouse.
- Please supervise children in the lobby at all times. Children should never enter a classroom without
a teacher present or be left unattended.
- Please refrain from taking photos or videos during class, as they can distract students.
- Sahuarita Dance Center reserves the right to use performance and class photos on its website and
promotional materials. Sahuarita Dance Center will NOT post any personal information about its
students (i.e. student names). If you do not wish to have your student’s photo/videos used, you must
notify Sahuarita Dance Center in advance in writing of your wishes.
- Parents are encouraged to volunteer as chaperones or backstage helpers during our Winter Performance
and May Recital. As we get closer to these performances, we will post QR codes to access the sign up
page.
Performance Policies
Our May Recital and Winter Performances are held at the
Sahuarita Unified School District Auditorium.
More detailed information regarding our performances will be given to parents on the Picture Day prior to
the performance.
- No food or drinks may be brought into the auditorium.
- Flash photography or videography during performances is not permitted. Parents may take videos and
photos during the dress rehearsal only. A professional video recording of each
performance will be
available for purchase.
- Parents may not pick up their dancer until the performance is completed. We ask that audience
members do not talk, stand, exit, or enter the auditorium during a performance as it is
disrespectful and disruptive to dancers and other parents.
- Parents may only enter the building through the front lobby. No parents are allowed backstage unless
they are a designated chaperone.
Leveling
A student’s level is determined by evaluation from their teachers. We determine a student’s level based
on their skills, focus, and age group. Students will need to prove mastery of certain skills before they
may move up to the next level. At the end of the school year, teachers will provide evaluations of each
student so you may know what level they should take in the coming year.
Behavior & Dress Code
Students are expected to demonstrate respectful behavior and arrive
dressed according to the studio dress code. Students may be dismissed
from class for disruptive behavior, disorderly conduct, or
inappropriate attire.
For more information about the dress code, please refer to the dress code page.
